Job Description
A maritime operator is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join a Multipurpose, Multicat, or Research Vessel operating in the UK.
The successful candidate will manage the Engineering Department and ensure the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of propulsion, auxiliary, and technical systems onboard.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage engine room operations and engineering personnel
• Ensure safe operation of main and auxiliary machinery
• Supervise planned and corrective maintenance
• Monitor machinery condition and performance
• Troubleshoot technical and mechanical defects
• Maintain engineering records and spare parts
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures
Requirements
• Valid Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency
• Previous Chief Engineer experience on Multipurpose, Multicat, Research, Offshore Support, or similar vessels
• Valid STCW certification package
• Valid Medical Certificate
• Valid Passport and Seaman’s Book
• Strong knowledge of marine machinery and maintenance systems
• Good English communication skills
• Strong technical leadership and safety awareness
