Description

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the engineering department, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment on board.
- Plan and execute maintenance and repair activities, including routine inspections, troubleshooting, and coordinating with shore-based technical support.
- Monitor and control fuel consumption, engine performance, and other operational parameters to optimize efficiency and minimize environmental impact.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and industry standards, including safety and pollution prevention measures.
- Train and supervise the engineering team, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and equipment performance.

Requirements:
- Valid Chief Engineer (C/E) license, STCW III/2 or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in a similar role on fishing vessels or fishing factories.
- Strong technical knowledge of marine engineering systems, including propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, and refrigeration systems.
- Familiarity with fishing vessel operations, equipment, and fishing gear.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Good communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
