Job Description
We are looking for an experienced 1st Assistant (Senior Offshore Shift Supervisor – Construction) to join our offshore projects team. The role involves overseeing construction and assembly activities offshore, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company and industry standards. The successful candidate will act as a key point of coordination between subcontractors, shift leaders, and the Offshore Construction Manager.
Requirements / Qualifications / Competence
Minimum 4 years of experience as 1st Assistant (or equivalent supervisory role).
Technical High School Diploma or background in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Naval Engineering (preferred).
6–7 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.
Engineering background strongly preferred.
Candidates currently following a maritime career will not be shortlisted.
Fluent English (spoken and written).
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Supervise and guide construction and assembly works during assigned shifts.
Conduct daily coordination meetings with shift leaders and subcontractors.
Review and approve Job Safety Analyses and Toolbox Talks prior to operations.
Inspect rigging gear, ensuring validity of certifications.
Manage load transfers and heavy lifts with crane operators and marine staff.
Supervise ROV launches and underwater equipment operations.
Track and report usage of consumables and equipment.
Compile and submit end-of-shift progress reports with activity logs.
Resolve discipline clashes or sequencing issues to maintain workflow.
Escalate emergent issues to Offshore Construction Manager.
Assist with deck layout planning and monitoring of stinger/JLT operations.
Ensure compliance with QHSE standards and Permit-to-Work protocols at all workfronts.
