Select Offshore is currently recruiting an experienced Oiler to join a Split Hopper Barge (SHB) operating in Portugal.
The successful candidate will support engine room operations, machinery maintenance, lubrication routines, and assist engineering officers in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of the vessel. Candidates with previous Split Hopper Barge (SHB) experience are highly preferred.
Job Responsibilities
Assist with engine room watchkeeping duties
Perform lubrication of machinery and engine room equipment
Support routine maintenance and machinery inspections
Monitor engine room systems during vessel operations
Assist engineering officers during repairs and troubleshooting
Maintain cleanliness and safety within the engine room
Participate in emergency drills and safety meetings
Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and international maritime regulations
Requirements
Previous experience as Oiler
Split Hopper Barge (SHB) experience preferred
Valid STCW 2010 certification package
Valid Oiler Certificate of Proficiency (where applicable)
Valid Passport, Seaman's Book, and Medical Certificate
Good English communication skills
Strong safety awareness and teamwork abilities
