Job Description
A maritime operator is recruiting an experienced Master to join a Multipurpose, Multicat, or Research Vessel operating in the UK.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall safe operation of the vessel, navigation, crew management, deck operations, and compliance with maritime regulations and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Take overall command and responsibility for vessel safety
• Conduct safe navigation and bridge watchkeeping
• Manage crew and coordinate daily vessel operations
• Oversee deck, cargo, mooring, and offshore activities
• Ensure compliance with ISM, STCW, SOLAS, MARPOL, and company HSE procedures
• Conduct emergency drills, safety meetings, and risk assessments
• Maintain vessel operational readiness and documentation
Requirements
• Valid Master Certificate of Competency
• Previous Master experience on Multipurpose, Multicat, Research, Offshore Support, or similar vessels
• Valid STCW certification package
• Valid Medical Certificate
• Valid Passport and Seaman’s Book
• Relevant offshore certificates where applicable
• Good English communication skills
• Strong leadership and safety awareness
• Physically and medically fit for sea service
