Captain OSV Description
As a Captain of an Offshore Support Vessel (OSV), you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating and managing the vessel, ensuring the safe transportation of crew, equipment, and cargo to and from offshore locations. This role requires strong maritime expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
Safely operate and navigate the OSV in various offshore environments, including ports, open waters, and oil rig sites
Execute and oversee mooring and anchoring procedures
Maintain constant communication with crew members, port authorities, and other vessels as necessary
Supervise and manage the vessel's crew, including deckhands, engineers, and support staff
Ensure that all crew members are properly trained and aware of safety procedures
Ensure compliance with all maritime regulations, including international and local laws, as well as company policies
Implement and oversee safety protocols and emergency response procedures to minimize risks and accidents
Conduct regular safety drills and training for the crew
Oversee the maintenance and repair of the vessel, including its engines, navigation equipment, and other systems
Schedule and coordinate necessary maintenance and repairs in collaboration with the engineering team
Plan and execute efficient routes and schedules for crew changeovers, equipment transfers, and cargo transportation
Monitor weather conditions, tides, and other factors that may affect the vessel's operations
Maintain accurate records of all operations, including voyage logs, maintenance records, and incident reports
Adhere to environmental protection and sustainability guidelines, including waste management and pollution prevention measures
