Description
Load Out Barge Supervisor: To assist the Marine Operations Manager/ Superintendent, / Marine Support Specialist I, with managing the IMI Semi submergible Load out barge and all Marine-related tasks. Ensure that all maintenance activities and load-out preparations onboard the barge are carried out in accordance with IMI Policies and Procedures. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
To maintain, operate and secure the Semi-Submersible Transportation Barge.
To ensure that the barge meets all local legislation, flag state, international class requirements, safety standards, and all certification is kept valid.
To provide key planning and engineering input into the vessel’s movements and cargo requirements
To advise Marine Operations management of potential concerns at the earliest opportunity, thereby promptly allowing for prompt remedial intervention.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSES) requirements and responsibilities as per IMI Procedures.
To ensure the integrity of the barge and the safety of its operators/crew and all personnel on board.
Ensure that all legislative requirements are in place and that the vessel operates by all appropriate marine requirements
To ensure all equipment on board is fit for purpose and that the required maintenance programs are in place.
To manage and supervise the barge crew and their requirements.
To maintain up-to-date knowledge and intelligence on engineering techniques and technical matters, whilst constantly searching for new and innovative ways of doing business.
To regularly interface with client company representatives and consultants to assist with the development of any load out / Load In Operations requirements and opportunities.
To assist the proposals department with quotations for load-out inquiries.
Assist with “On and Off” hire condition surveys.
Assist the accounts /commercial department with related invoices and back charging of clients.
Assist in the maintenance and audit / third party surveyor for the certification process of barge & equipment on board.
Report any maintenance-related issues with the barges to the maintenance department.
Ensure marine operations comply with Port and other applicable external authority regulations. If applicable and required.
Support the management of operations loadouts, including liaison with other external authorities as required.
Maintain the Semi Submergible LO barge to a high standard.
Maintain and update a marine movement log.
Manage to carry out General Ship husbandry-related jobs, chipping buffing, and manual painting to maintain good condition company assets.
Experience:
Must have a minimum of 7 years of Load-outs experience experience.
Qualifications:
Diploma or technical qualification relevant to marine operations.
Confined space training and all required training certifications relevant to Marine Operations activities.
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
