Job Description:
Seaspan Corporation is seeking an experienced Fitter to join their global fleet of Container Carrier Vessels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, fabrication, and repair of various metal structures, piping, and machinery components onboard, ensuring safe and efficient vessel operation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform fitting, welding, and fabrication work on pipes, brackets, and metal structures
• Assist engineering officers in maintenance and repair of machinery and hull equipment
• Conduct inspections on tanks, bilges, and mechanical systems
• Maintain tools, workshop equipment, and safety standards
• Participate in emergency and safety drills as per company policy
• Support the Chief Engineer in all technical maintenance activities
Requirements:
• Valid STCW Certificates
• Medical Fitness Certificate (ENG1 or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Fitter on board merchant or container vessels
• Proficient in welding and machining operations
• Good English communication and teamwork skills
• Valid Passport and Seaman’s Book
