Responsible for own safety as well as that of the crew.
Attend and participate in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meetings.
Demonstrate and Promote Safety Leadership for team members.
Inspect and train crane crew to inspect safety apparatus and equipment.
Understands and adheres to correct lock-out, tag-out procedures.
Ensure all lifts are within load limits of equipment and are correctly rigged, and lifting gear is properly color coded prior to use.
Assist in the orientation and training of new Roustabouts regarding helicopter safety, high noise area safety, appliance use, lifeboat assignment, general alarm, etc.
Assist in organizing, planning and monitoring the work of the crane crew.
Oversee the inspection of slings, cables, straps and the crane structure prior to lifting operations.
Oversee preventive maintenance as required to ensure safe and continual service of the cranes.
Assist in corporate and regulatory body inspections.
Maintain up to date crane record books.
Monitors sea and weather conditions for safe loading and unloading.
Qualifications / Experience
High School diploma
Two (2) or more years as a certified Crane Operator with prior offshore experience preferred.
