Job Description:

Curtin Maritime is seeking a qualified Electro Technical Officer (ETO) to join its Marine Transportation division. This role is essential to the safe operation and technical upkeep of vessels, focusing on electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical systems.

Due to Jones Act requirements, candidates must possess a valid USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC). The position is rotation-based and requires travel to various project sites throughout the United States.

The ETO works under the supervision of licensed officers, ensuring all vessel systems are maintained in line with regulatory standards and company policy. The ideal candidate is safety-driven, detail-oriented, and thrives in a dynamic work environment that includes challenging physical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Operate, monitor, and maintain all onboard electrical and electronic systems
• Perform preventive maintenance as per Vessel Management System schedule
• Maintain accurate logs and update completed tasks in maintenance systems
• Manage tools, spare parts, and critical inventory
• Report to and assist the Chief Engineer with general vessel technical operations
• Supervise assistant engineering staff, as needed
• Perform deckhand duties when required

Requirements:

• Valid USCG Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) – Required
• Valid USCG Medical Certificate
• Proficiency in English communication
• Preferred: STCW Reg. III/6 – Electro Technical Officer certification
• TWIC Card
• Passport or ability to obtain one
• Must pass pre-employment physical and DOT drug test
• Comfortable working in confined spaces, extreme weather, and physically demanding environments
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or have U.S. work authorization (Jones Act Compliance)

Employment Details:

• Contract Duration: Rotational schedule (e.g. 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off)
• Salary: Competitive, based on experience
