Location: Long Beach, California / Varies (Project-Based – USA)
Job Description:

Curtin Maritime is seeking a qualified and experienced Dredge Captain to lead dredging operations across various project locations within the U.S., including Long Beach, California. The Dredge Captain will be responsible for the overall command and performance of the dredge vessel, ensuring efficient execution of dredging operations according to project timelines and safety standards.

The Dredge Captain works in close coordination with the Project Manager and shoreside operations team to manage logistics, crewing, and daily production reporting. The position plays a vital role in ensuring that project goals are achieved on time and within scope.

Key Responsibilities:

As per company policy, the main duties may include but are not limited to:
• Overall command and operational responsibility of the dredge and its crew
• Supervision of daily dredging activities and production performance
• Coordination with project managers and shoreside staff for logistics and planning
• Monitoring maintenance and readiness of all dredge equipment
• Ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

• Valid U.S. Coast Guard License appropriate for vessel operation
• Valid STCW and TWIC certification (as applicable)
• Medical fitness certificate
• Proficiency in English communication
• Minimum of 3–5 years experience operating and managing dredge vessels
• Proven leadership and communication skills in a maritime operational setting
• U.S. Work Authorization Required

Employment Details:

• Contract Duration: Full-time, 4 Weeks On / 4 Weeks Off rotation
• Salary: Competitive, based on experience
