Ordinary Seaman Description
We are seeking an Ordinary Seaman to be responsible for all aspects of line handling, maintenance, and housekeeping on the vessel.
Chip and paint decks and superstructure of the vessel
Ensures a clean, sanitary environment aboard the vessels, including all aspects of cleaning inside and outside of the vessel
Aids as needed, the Captain in checking and inspecting the vessel’s safety equipment
Provides support to the engine room as needed per direction of the Captain
Follows company and work site safety policies/procedures
Ensures vessel and survey crew follow safety and PPE protocols
Ordinary Seaman Qualifications
1 year of previous experience as a seaman
High school diploma or equivalent degree
Valid Passport and Driver’s License
Merchant Mariner Credential, Ordinary Seaman / Stewards Department
TWIC
Current STCW Basic Training Course, and valid STCW Medical Certificate
Ability to work 84-hour work week
Ability to live aboard vessel for full rotation
Must be able to communicate in English both written and verbal (including over the telephone and radio)
Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels
