Job Description
A maritime operator is recruiting an experienced Able Seaman (AB) to support deck and marine operations onboard a Multipurpose, Multicat, or Research Vessel operating in the UK.
The successful candidate will assist with deck maintenance, mooring, cargo handling, offshore activities, and general vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform deck maintenance and preservation duties
• Assist with mooring and anchoring operations
• Support cargo handling and deck activities
• Handle ropes, wires, and deck equipment safely
• Assist officers during vessel operations
• Participate in emergency drills and safety meetings
• Maintain safe and clean working areas
Requirements
• Valid Able Seafarer Deck / AB certification
• Previous AB experience on offshore, multipurpose, multicat, or research vessels preferred
• Valid STCW certification package
• Valid Medical Certificate
• Valid Passport and Seaman’s Book
• Relevant offshore certificates where applicable
• Good English communication skills
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork skills
• Physically and medically fit for sea service
