**Job Description:**
WRS – Worldwide Recruitment Solutions is seeking an **Able Seaman (AB)** to join a large research vessel engaged in **polar research operations**. This is a temporary contract with embarkation scheduled in **Uruguay on the 8th of November** and completion on **6th of January**. The selected candidate will take part in supporting safe navigation, deck operations, and assisting the scientific crew during the polar expedition.

**Key Responsibilities:**
• Perform navigation and lookout duties under officer supervision.
• Support mooring, unmooring, and deck maintenance.
• Assist in cargo and equipment handling, including polar research gear.
• Participate actively in safety drills and emergency procedures.
• Ensure compliance with international maritime and vessel-specific safety standards.

**Requirements:**
• Valid AB Certificate of Competency (COC)
• Full STCW certification
• Valid Passport
• Seafarers Medical Certificate (ENG1 or equivalent)
• UK Seamans Book (mandatory)
• Previous research vessel or polar operation experience preferred
