Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Officer in the overall management of the deck department
- Supervise and participate in deck operations, including cargo handling, mooring, and anchoring
- Maintain navigational charts, publications, and equipment
- Conduct regular safety drills and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Monitor and maintain the vessel's stability and trim
- Assist in the training and development of junior deck officers and crew members
Requirements:
- Valid STCW II/1 Officer of the Watch (OOW) Certificate of Competency
- Experience as a 2nd Officer on offshore vessels
- Proficient in the use of navigational and communication equipment
- Familiarity with seismic and research vessel operations is preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a multicultural environment
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
