Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Chief Engineer in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and operation of all machinery and equipment on board the vessel.
- Monitor and maintain the vessel's propulsion systems, generators, and auxiliary machinery.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment.
- Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance and repair work, including dry-docking and major overhauls.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Participate in emergency drills and respond to any emergencies or breakdowns as required.
Requirements:
- Solid experience as a 2nd Engineer on offshore vessels.
- Valid STCW certification.
- Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of diesel engines, generators, and other machinery.
- Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and industry standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in a challenging offshore environment.
