We are looking for a skilled Second Engineer to join the ISLAND SAPPHIRE (DSV DP2) operating in the Schengen region. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Diesel-Electric propulsion systems, DP2 operations, and auxiliary machinery maintenance in an offshore environment.
You’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and performance of all mechanical and electrical systems supporting subsea and heavy-lift operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and maintain main propulsion, generators, and auxiliary systems.
• Support preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities in the engine room.
• Report to the Chief Engineer regarding mechanical and electrical issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Participate in emergency drills and contribute to vessel operational readiness.
Requirements:
• Valid STCW Engineer Officer Certificates
• Minimum 1 year offshore experience (preferably on DSV or DP vessels)
• Valid Schengen Visa
• Experience with Gangway / Heavy Lift Operations
• Valid Seaman Book, Medical Certificate, and all relevant offshore documentation
• Good command of English
