Required to possess a US Coast Guard License, Mate of Steam of Motor Vessels of 500 GRT Upon Oceans, with Mate of towing Vessels Upon Oceans and Western Rivers Endorsement.
Current Unlimited Radar Observer & ARPA, ECDIS, GMDSS.
Must have a current STCW (II/1 & IV/2)
Must obtain TWIC, Passport, and Driver's License.
Valid Certificates for First Aid and CPR and Advanced Fire Fighting.
Hold a valid USCG Medical Certificate.
Maintain VPDSD Training Endorsement.
Familiarity with USCG sub Chapter I requirements.
