The day to day upkeep and maintenance of the structure of the ship, cargo and ballasting operations, stability and stresses, deck stores, and the maintenance of all cargo equipment, accommodation maintenance and modifications. The Chief Officer will not be responsible for the upkeep of areas which are the responsibility of the Chief Engineer or Service Manager.
The efficient organization and running of the Deck Department. The Chief Officer must issue Work Routines to the Deck department. The Chief Officer has the authority to vary the responsibility and duties of the personnel of his department as he / she thinks fit, to meet any exceptional circumstances, always subject to the Master's orders, Company policy and safety considerations.
Organizing the ratings respective duties and hours of work in accordance with the Hours of Rest requirements, Crew Agreement and conditions of service.
Discipline in the Deck department. In exercising such responsibilities the Chief Officer must act in co-operation with the Master.
Rotation and Trading Area:
Rotation: 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off
Trading area: Spain to Morocco.
Requirements:
Fluent in English.
Valid Passport.
