- Good command of English language
- Experienced different types of cargoes like steel and forest products, yachts, project cargoes, bulk, container, etc.
- Can operate ships cranes during cargo operations, shifting of pontoons, unloading of supplies and equipments, etc.
- Applicants who are knowledgeable in "tandem lift" during cargo operations have an advantage but not required
- Good helmsman is also a requirement
- Knowledgeable in lashing of cargoes
- Applicants who came from a Dutch company have an advantage but not required
