The 2nd/3rd Officer is responsible to the Master in all respects and is directly responsible to the Chief Officer for the execution of his duties. The 2nd/3rd Officer is responsible for:
Acting as the ship’s Navigating officer and as such is responsible to the Master for maintenance of all relevant charts, light lists, tide tables and navigational publications including corrections thereof (if designated). He must advise the Master if there are any delays in receiving the consecutive Notices to Mariners.
The correct operation and maintenance of all electronic navigational equipment and the GMDSS Radio Station. He is to ensure that the Master’s attention is drawn to any defects (if designated).
Carrying out maintenance under the vessels Planned Maintenance System.
Loading and unloading of the vessel as designated.
Carrying out duties in his areas of responsibility of the vessel`s emergency organization.
Rotation and Trading Area:
Rotation: 6 weeks on and 6 weeks off
Trading area: Spain to Morocco.
Requirements:
Fluent in English.
Valid Passport.
