▪ Ensure the correct operation of rig's mechanical equipment by following preventive maintenance system, performing routine inspections, monitoring spare parts and coordinating own crew to carry out activities complying to Quality and HSE procedures and practices
Tasks
▪ Be safety minded during in all works and behaviours, use compulsory protective equipment and ensure the same for subordinates
▪ Carry out own duties according to the Emergency Preparedness Action Plan
▪ Ensure that before any maintenance activity is started, a proper risk evaluation is carried out, precautions are taken and the work permit is signed
▪ Attend safety meetings and conduct special safety meetings with mechanic crew whenever necessary
▪ Be well-informed about all relevant work and safety procedures issued by Saipem and the Operator, applying them and promoting their implementation
▪ Promptly report any safety hazard, accident, near-miss accident and non-conformance through proper channels
▪ Be well-informed about environmental aspect on site, full knowledge of Saipem environmental procedures, applying them and promoting their implementation

▪ Monitor and prevent oil spills from hydraulic operated equipment, power related equipment as well as drilling mechanical related equipment and repair the equipment immediately in accordance with superior instructions
▪ Ensure good housekeeping in own working area and on the rig in general
