Description
Requirements:
-High School Diploma or education equivalent required.
-Job-related experience for 4 years minimum.
-6-12 months experience on a Ball Maintenance Training Team preferred
-Ability to apply independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
-Must be able to handle sensitive related and proprietary information in a confidential manner.
-Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
-Must follow company policies, procedures, practices, and standards of conduct as outlined in the Ball Corporation manuals.
-Maintains an awareness and complies with hazardous waste management and other environmental management requirements in the workplace by attending scheduled training sessions.
-Thorough understanding of the operating principles of all assigned equipment.
-Possesses general carpentry skills.
-Ability to arc weld, MIG weld, TIG weld, and use oxy-acetylene equipment (stainless, carbon, steel, and aluminum).
-Ability to use hand and power tools.
-Ability to perform basic plumbing and piping.
-Ability to perform basic structural and sheet metal fabrication.
-Ability to read blueprints.
-Ability to use basic machine shop equipment, i.e., lathes, mills, and grinders.
-Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills.
-Working knowledge of the following areas: welding, brazing, burning, bending, heat treatment of metals, shearing and drilling, machine shop theory and practices, nomenclature of assigned equipment.
-Works in a manufacturing environment.
-This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to, high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc.
-Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices.
-Works in confined area(s).
