Description
This position will develop and communicate policies, objectives, and standards for crewing and create plans for upward and/or lateral mobility of vessel crews. You will oversee vessel manning, records, training, licensing, and qualifications for marine personnel in the gulf.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily crew change schedules and costs for vessels
- Arrange air travel, ground transportation, and overnight accommodations for crew members as needed for regularly scheduled or unscheduled crew changes
- Verify travel vendor, cost, and vessel/crew member for accounting purposes
- Communicate with vessels to identify crew change requirements and ETA’s
- Maintain up-to-date crew rosters and communicate changes to internal stakeholders
- Coordinate crew change information with internal and external security personnel, operations managers, and dispatch to ensure access to vessels through third-party docks and fleets
- Coordinate crew change exceptions with Port Captains, Dispatch, Training, Claims, and Safety as necessary
- Provide timely travel itineraries for vessel crew members going to and departing from vessels
- Manage unscheduled crew changes as necessary
- Ensure the Master Crew List is current to maintain proper crewing levels
- Manage "Leave of Absence" requests
- Coordinate with the Director of Safety on the status of injured and/or ill crew members with Benefits and Claims
- Collaborate with the HR Department on missed crew changes, no calls/no shows, disciplinary documentation, evaluations, transfers, leave of absence requests, and other related matters
