Description
The U.S. Operations Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical and structural components, machinery, and equipment using applied knowledge of engineering principles. Responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
Providing technical support to field operations on equipment used for drilling oil and gas wells. This includes designing, testing, modifying and maintaining equipment using applied knowledge of engineering principles
Checking consistency in equipment specifications and certifications
Improving operations, reduce turnaround times, and optimize processes to provide seamless quality of engineering services
Collaborate with other departments (e.g. Shop Floor, Operations, Procurement, MCP, HSE, EAM, and Marketing, etc.) to ensure project success
Ensure that equipment is safe, efficient and effective
Evaluate various mechanical products under consideration for purchase to determine their efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Recommend improvements to current design of products
Participating in field visits for rig inspections, modifications and repairs when needed
Ensure ongoing compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation
Various other duties and special projects as required
