Qualifications and Skills
Education: bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or a related field. An advanced degree or certification in Control Systems or Process Automation is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Control System Engineer, with a strong focus on Honeywell DCS. Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting control systems in an industrial setting.
Honeywell DCS Expertise: Proficiency in working with Honeywell DCS platforms, such as Experion PKS or TDC 3000. In-depth knowledge of configuring controllers, programming logic, and setting up regulatory control loops.
Programming Skills: Solid programming skills in languages commonly used in control systems, such as ladder logic, Function Block Diagrams (FBD), and Structured Text (ST).
System Integration: Experience integrating control systems with various hardware components, such as sensors, actuators, and PLCs. Knowledge of communication protocols like Modbus, OPC, or Ethernet/IP.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex control system issues. Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and optimize control strategies for improved performance.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and end-users. Strong documentation skills to create clear and concise technical reports and guidelines.
Adaptability and Initiative: Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities. Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and explore new technologies and methodologies.
