Coatings Engineer Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Coatings Engineer to join our Project Material Engineering team during the execution phase. As a Coatings Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing painting, coating, and insulation systems for offshore facilities related to the Oil and Gas industry.
Designing painting, coating, and insulation systems and materials for offshore facilities such as pipelines, risers, and subsea structures in the Oil and Gas industry.
Providing specialized assistance and technical support for your area of expertise during engineering, fabrication, and construction phases.
Providing up-to-date information and supporting technical, commercial, and field departments to develop sound engineering practices, specifications, and procedures in the field of competence.
Promoting involvement in relevant Research and Development projects related to coating and insulation. Reviewing Client/End User tender documents and requirements related to painting, coating, and insulation materials and systems.
Examining project documentation to identify critical issues in your area of competence and suggesting cost-saving strategies.
Preparing, issuing, and updating engineering documents, including specifications, procedures, and lists of surfaces to be painted, coated, and/or insulated.
Reviewing and updating project-specific Quality Control Procedures for painting, coating, and insulation works to be carried out at the site by Sub-Contractors.
Reviewing Mechanical Data Sheets of Packages, Machinery, and Equipment for verification of painting, coating, and/or insulation requirements.
Reviewing painting, coating, and insulation procedures submitted by Manufacturers/Vendors during the TBE phase and after P.O. assignment.
Preparing specifications and material requisitions for painting, coating, and insulation materials enquiries to Bidders when required.
Evaluating Technical Bids received by Bidders for materials to be purchased when required.
Reviewing and approving documentation prepared by site Sub-Contractors (e.g., Materials approval requests, method statements, repair procedures, etc.) relevant to painting, coating, and insulation site works.
