Description
The Electrician performs preventative and corrective maintenance in his/her area of responsibility, with oversight of the Chief Electrician; the Electrician communicates regularly with the other departments (engine room, mechanic, electronic, subsea, drilling, marine and safety) as well as the client and other service partners when required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Performs maintenance and repair of electrical components for the following:
Drilling equipment (i.e. drilling motors and auxiliaries, top drive systems, mud pumps, etc.);
Marine equipment (ie. thruster motors, ballast system, cranes, etc.); and
General rig equipment (i.e. HVAC, refrigeration plants, power, etc.). Ensure that operations are planned, organized, supervised, and executed in accordance with well programs, rig move plans, company requirements and contractual obligations.
Coordinates planning and execution of preventive maintenance with a minimum of six-week overview to cover current hitch and half of back‐to-back hitch; maintain an updated and accurate detailed historical record of all maintenance done as well as all equipment certification documents.
Prioritizes maintenance tasks assigned on safety & environmental critical equipment/systems (SECE’s) as defined in VAMS.
For rigs with Performance Standards
Prioritizes maintenance tasks assigned with Assurance Activities required by Performance Standards.
Maintains an understanding of the relationship between the rigs safety case, identified Major Accident Hazards, the bow tie assessment, Performance Standard (PS) documents, and PS Assurance Activity tasks in VAMS.
Uses the VAMS system to be able to identify equipment identified as Barriers.
