Job Description
Blue Phoenix Deepwater is currently seeking an experienced Boatswain (Bosun) for a long-term Offshore Deepwater Drilling Project in Nigeria.
The successful candidate will supervise deck ratings, coordinate deck maintenance, oversee mooring operations, and support offshore drilling activities while ensuring compliance with company HSE procedures and international offshore regulations.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced Bosuns with previous offshore drilling or offshore vessel experience.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise daily deck operations and deck crew
Coordinate maintenance, painting, and preservation work
Oversee mooring and cargo handling activities
Assist during offshore lifting operations
Maintain deck equipment and operational readiness
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings
Participate in emergency drills
Ensure compliance with offshore HSE procedures
Requirements
Nigerian nationality
Previous offshore experience as Bosun
Valid STCW certification package
Valid offshore medical certificate
Good English communication skills
Strong leadership and deck management skills
Excellent safety awareness and teamwork abilities
Physically and medically fit for offshore service
