Assist the Chief Engineer (STCW III/2), 2nd Engineer Officer / 1st Assistant Engineer (STCW III/2), and 3rd Engineer Officer / 2nd Assistant Engineer (STCW III/1) in providing technical support, domestic and industrial services to all areas of the MODU. Exercise effective control and efficient operation of the MODU power plant and machinery with attention to the safety of the crew, protection of the environment and safety of the MODU.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for safety of crew, environment and engine room as well as personal safety
Attends and participates in all pre-tour, post tour and weekly safety meeting.
Responsible for the watch in the Engine Control Room. Assure the proper power distribution on MODU.
Maintains the mechanical equipment when required.
Responsible for bunkering, transferring fuel, water and other fluids safely and efficiently.
Maintains the order, cleanliness and housekeeping at mechanical sites.
Identifies opportunities to improve operational procedures and assist with procedure revisions and risk assessments.
Qualifications / Experience
4th Engineer Officer / 3rd Assistant Engineer, Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch (OICEW) (STCW III/1), without limitation of horsepower, or geographical area.
High School Diploma is required. Graduation from a Maritime Academy is preferred.
Drilling Industry experience is preferred.
Completion of all training and certification requirements for position as described in the training matrix.
